TN State Standard I will focus on: 2.NBT.A. Understand place value. 2.NBT.A.1. Know that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones (e.g., 706 can be represented in multiple ways as 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones; 706 ones; or 70 tens and 6 ones). 


2.     One tech tool I could use in a real activity with my students to teach them the initial concepts or practice the concepts relating to the standard is an online game/website. This game will help the students understand place names in 3-digit numbers and the place value of digits in 3-digit numbers. 


3.     A different tech tool I could use to informally assess my students could be my iPad or Notebook connected to my projector screen. I will use this tech tool to temporarily stop the classroom activity and have them as a whole, participate in a few problems to solve. This immediate feeback will give me an idea of where my students are in their understanding.   


4.     Finally, one more tech tool I could use to summatively assess my students is a printer - to have them print their work and turn in. I will then be able to grade/assess them individually. The tangible printout will allow me to use the data to optimize student outcomes in learning.
